Lent 2018

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. Our Masses for Ash Wednesday will be at 6:25a.m., 9:30a.m. and 5:30p.m. Again this year we are pleased to have a Tuesday evening Mass during Lent at 7:00. Visiting priests from our Diocese will celebrate and preach. Our first evening Mass is on February 20th.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to keep the tradition of Daily Mass during this holy season. As we have done in the past, a free-will offering will be taken up each week as part of our Lenten almsgiving; this year it will be donated to the Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program which assists new families entering the U.S. from very difficult areas that are often war-torn and experiencing terrible violence.

Since our Daily Mass schedule is often difficult for families, we really encourage everyone to make a special effort to join us for these Tuesday evening
Masses. This wonderful tradition during Lent is so important to pass on to our children. Hopefully you will find the sacrifice well worth the effort. Our overall Lenten theme this year reflects our Diocesan “Year of the Family: “A Time for Family.”
There will be numerous opportunities for prayer, reflection, and education. In addition to Daily Mass, we are pleased to offer some other opportunities:
